Sauvetage – Sauvignon Blanc, France; 2020

French for “rescue,” this is French Sauvignon Blanc at its best: bright, refreshing, and ready to make your day even better.

This little French number is vinified as naturally as possible, which lets the true spirit of the wine shine through and the respect paid to the fruit really shows. This Sauvignon Blanc was grown in various soils, including sand, clay, and river rock. The wine was produced using the direct press method, and the final blend is a textbook example of the classic sauvignon blanc style. It is aged in stainless steel for 6 months.

Snappy tropical, citrus and white stone fruits are abundant on the nose, and the palate is tied up with a minerally finish. This is a home run with creamy cheeses and early spring dishes featuring asparagus, green peas, artichokes, or white fish.
