Ranga Ranga – Sauvignon Blanc

The spring growing season was one of the best in recent years. There was plenty of rain at the right time to get the vines up and going and producing magnificent canopies. With the Marlborough coastal site, there were no frost issues. The challenges came later as the region got six times the monthly average of rain. Once the summer wrapped it showed an impressive result. Clean, ripe fruit was delivered to the crush pad ready to be processed.

Your glass opens with super-ripe citrus fruits a dash of kiwi fruit and mown grass rounded out by fresh herbs. There is a slight briny character with its savory smokiness.  Mouth-watering, juicy, ripe citrus brightness that leads to a beautifully balanced mid-palate full of floral flavors, that super ripe citrus from the nose, and a seasoning of dried herbs. The finish is long, mouthwatering, and full of everything promised on the nose and already tasted on the palate.

ranga ranga can pair well with spicy food from all over, including Thai, Japanese, and Indian but works equally well with seafood, particularly oysters, and fatty cheeses.
