Since 1717, the Arnoux family has cultivated vines and produced wine in the village of Vacqueyras. The family vineyard covers 40 hectares and respects strict production rules, with red clay-limestone soils with rolled pebbles and quality grape varieties.
Small yields allow for a great concentration of flavors. For almost 300 years, the Arnoux family has been producing and aging wines while respecting ancestral traditions.
The estate develops several ranges, Lestours Cocher, Aimé Arnoux, Vieux Cocher, Genus (BIO), P’tit Clocher and P’tit Voilier.
The Côtes du Rhône from Maison Arnoux & Fils is a plot selection from Domaines Aimé Arnoux. This wine was aged for 12 to 18 months, with two-thirds in oak barrels and the remaining third in oak barrels that had contained another wine.
The 2020 vintage comprises of 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah to make this estate wine. Estate wines are from the family domain and several properties are owned by the family in nearby appellations. These are either labeled as vineyard-designated wines or as selections of parcellaires- individual plots selected to produce the finest possible wines. These wines are produced from sustainably farmed, largely organic vineyards. Terroir represents only the Domaine wines.
The Côtes du Rhône 2020 in plot selection is distinguished by a remarkable concentration, offering a deep and sustained red color. It’s aging in oak gives it power and personality. On the nose, fruity notes mingle with aromas of pepper and vanilla. On the palate, the attack is subtle, offering a full, fruity, and generous bouquet. Over time, woody notes are revealed.
Pair this will a charcuterie board, grilled meat such as a Filet mignon or hardy sauced meat, and even Paella.
