The ’75 Wine Co. is a tribute to the creativity and abundance of Californian wine from then to now. The year 1975 is a nod to the early days of the burgeoning California wine industry, a year before the Judgement of Paris tasting that resulted in California’s Napa Valley wines gaining worldwide respect.
The Mendocino AVA is one of California’s premier wine regions and offers ideal conditions for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. The warm Mediterranean climate results in full-bodied, age-worthy wines. The Ukiah Valley boasts porous benchland vineyards below the Mendocino Range, where deposits of broken rock lead to gravelly loam soils and the Russian River.
Coming from the Feliz Creek Vineyard in Mendocino County, this single-origin 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is filled with aromas of kirsch, fresh cherry, rose petal, and vanilla after a year-long rest in a combination of neutral French barriques and stainless steel. The entry is smooth and finishes long and precise on the palate with tannins reminiscent of cacao powder. Enjoy this wine with braised short rib, ancient grain salad or aged cheeses.
