At the Rack House Kitchen Wine Whiskey, we enjoy collaborating with other businesses in the
served here on a Saturday. We also collaborate with E6 and VB by rotating our used Manhattan barrels to each of them.
Basically how this works is, we use one of our 5L charred oak barrels for about six months or so. In this case we aged four rounds of our signature Barrel Aged Manhattan. Then we sent the barrel to Connor who owns VB Chocolate Bar. Connor used a sweetbloom roasters blend (coffee) and ran it through their Kyoto brewing system. He then let it age for six weeks. Finally they froze the blend into ice cubes for and Ice Coffee Manhattan.
After Connor was finished with the barrel, it went to Jeff the owner of Exit Six Brewery. Jeff currently has the barrel and has brewed "Trotterfox" which is an oatmeal brown beer. When Jeff uses one of our barrels, the brew doesn't last long, so hurry over if you want to give it a try!
Next, the barrel will come back to us. This time around we'll make a barrel aged cocktail that compliments the flavors of the coffee and beer. You'll have to stop by to find out what it is though!
